Pencil drawing, lawnmower and watering can, 1966.
Done at Johannesburg College of Art, under lecturer and Henry Moore scholar Spies Venter. I am still in touch with Spies who at age 80 is still active, painting and lecturing history-of-art in a Karoo dorp near George, Western Cape [2016]. One of my colleagues at art college, Rodney Cohen, now living in Canada, found Spies's web-address. Spies was an inspirational lecturer who really helped to upgrade my drawing.

Pencil sketch of my son, November 1976

Pencil sketch of my daughter, July 2000

Adaptation of a Brockbank cartoon, with my 1961 Alfa Romeo Sprint Speciale inserted! c. 1988

Pencil Drawing of The Crucifixion, 1966, age 21.
I researched Roman crucifixions and found that the wrists were nailed rather than the hands, and that only the crossbar was carried by the victim, not the whole 'cross'.
